Our vision: One Xetra®, one region, four markets.
We are already working intensely on the implementation of Xetra® as a common trading system across the members of the CEE Stock Exchange Group (CEESEG):
- Budapest
- Ljubljana
- Prague
- Vienna
Three out of four CEESEG members are currently running this trading system. Xetra® has already been in use on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 1999; it went live on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on 6 December 2010. The Prague Stock Exchange launched Xetra® as of 30 November 2012.
- The Budapest Stock Exchange will follow with the changeover, the Xetra® implementation is under way.
Cross membership
In accordance with the implementation plan of Xetra®, we are also working on cross membership of national and international trading members. This involves the
- harmonization of all relevant membership contracts and the
- standardization of all trading rules (as legally possible).
New trading members will therefore benefit from simpler and uniform conditions for trading on
the member exchanges of CEESEG.
The stock exchanges of Vienna and Ljubljana, where Xetra® is already in use, are the first
ones that commenced with cross membership. Connection of the first members for both the Vienna
Stock Exchange and the Ljubljana Stock Exchange already was effected in 2011. The stock exchanges
of Prague and Budapest are to follow.
Common clearing for all member exchanges of CEESEG
We are currently evaluating possibilities of establishing a common clearing for all CEESEG stock exchanges, which will be implemented as soon as possible. The EU conformity of the distribution of tasks envisages:
- Trading to take place via Xetra® at the local stock exchanges
- Clearing to be effected by common clearing
- Local settlement by local institutions
Market participants will profit from lower costs and the optimization of collateral deposit requirements.
Further long term goals include the harmonization of
- market segments and
- general terms and conditions of business.
Our vision is to enable members to trade on all markets through the same system and at the same conditions.
