Booming corporate bonds on the Vienna Stock Exchange
This spring has seen a tremendous surge in corporate bond issues on the Vienna Stock Exchange. There have been nine corporate bond placements (on both the regulated and unregulated markets) in nearly weekly intervals at the Vienna Stock Exchange since the start of the year with a total volume of EUR 1 billion. The bonds include three by German companies.
This positive trend is expected to continue – due to the attractive spreads and low interest rates – in the coming months as well. In 2011, the volume of corporate bonds floated through the Vienna Stock Exchange was EUR 3.3 billion.
