BETa Market - Dynamic present and promising future
Despite the short time that has lapsed since the first trading day on 15 November 2011, the BETa Market has garnered a great deal of interest both from investors and brokerage firms. At the launch, ten of the most liquid and popular European equities were accessible for trading; this number is expected to triple in the course of January 2012, and to grow even further in the future. A share of 64 percent of BSE's (Budapest Stock Exchange's) domestic equity trading members joined with the launch of the new market, and their number is still growing. Currently, Erste Investment Limited is acting as maker, but the BSE is expecting new market makers to enter the arena shortly. Thus far, daily average turnover on the BETa Market has been just above EUR 116,000, with Commerzbank taking the lead, generating a daily turnover of EUR 64,500 on average.
